It was a beautiful city with a lot of green space.
It was a beautiful city with a lot of green space. I really enjoyed the energy and resilience of the people. I did not feel unsafe, not anymore than any other large city. I also stayed smart and watched my bags for pickpockets, which was my biggest concern. I avoided areas and activities that could get me in trouble. The metro was easy to maneuver.

Look very closely the hotel and room you rent to include the amenities.. I have stayed in over 6 different hotels in the range of $60-$87. It was very difficult to find a good hotel that met my basic needs
1- Ac that works, not fans
2- A good breakfast or at least a place to eat close by
3- Security or lighting when returning at night
4- Clean working bathrooms with hot water and knobs that don't fall off
5- No surprises when checking in or out with surprise fees
When you find one like I have stick to that hotel the next visit or go up in price range

Comfortable weather. Awesome food, beer and coffee.
Comfortable weather. Awesome food, beer and coffee. You can plan your whole trip around the city with Uber, super safe and cheap. Hear the advise of the locals, they know better. Plan for a whole afternoon on "Comuna 13", immerse yourself in the culture, have dinner and do your shopping. Withdraw money on the "BanColombia" ATM's, they have the better rate. Book the Guatapé trip, but make sure that they stop at "Altos del Chocho". Tip your tour guides and waiters, they work for it.

The food and the culture were great. The views were amazing.
The food and the culture were great. The views were amazing. And although the tap water is safe to drink in this city, I would stick to bottled water unless you won't mind the rather poor (and metallic) taste of tap.
One thing to note if you are an obvious foreigner, there are people constantly hounding you and bombarding you while you are walking in the street just to sell you things, get you to dine with them, or simply give you money. This was my least favorite part of the trip. I am a tall white American woman. At certain times of the day/night, I could not walk 10 steps without being approached by street vendors or begging children.

The city if Medellin is a city like no other.
The city if Medellin is a city like no other. You have a mixture of city-like with the immersive of nature. It looks like a city with beauty and nature combined. I suggest taking the metro or cable car. Medellin is similar to NYC but way more eco-friendly!

be careful with taxi's they may run the bill up taking longer routes, UBER works better, but even they try to modify a trip for a greater fare .. You can walk el Pobaldo without any problem .
the hotel is very nice and clean. The building is very well taken cared for, nice tiles, clean elevator, clean room. The most important this was the 2 ladies at the front desk, Sara and the other miss, sorry forgot her name, super friendly and Sara spoke/speaks good English all +++++. The breakfast was a typical Colombian breakfast, eggs with arepa/bread. The WIFI is good and fast. You see that the owner did not spare money to make a cheap hotel, but invested in quality and good stuff.
All in all a very good place to stay..!!
The owners are the nicest couple you'll find in Medellin! They go all the way to help you out, armed with google translate and our duolingo spanish and their duolingo english, we managed to communicate very well. The breakfast is homemade and delicious, it changes every morning, if you are in need of dinner, they'll make a deliciois traditional colombian meal with salad, chicken and rice/fries. The bed was huge and the room a nice size. The communal spaces are spacious and super clean. Good wifi.
Sites was by far the best hotel I’ve stayed in all of Colombia. All rooms are equipped with full kitchen, living room, and stunning views. Access to jacuzzi, gym, steam room, and bbq. Sites is situated in an ideal neighborhood in El Poblado, near to everything you’ll need. The staff is extremely attentive, and would like to thank Rosendo Espinoza as he was absolutely amazing! Definitely returning this this hotel on my next trip back to Medellin. 10/10!
The hotel itself is beautiful, aesthetically pleasing and modern looking. It is also close enough to all the bars and restaurants in El Poblado area but far enough where you’re not in the chaos of it all.
Some other things I liked about the hotel: staff are friendly, the hotel is about a 25-30 min walk to parque Lleras and other “hot spots” around the area. Ac works great, and the rooftop area has a beautiful view of the city.
This hotel is absolutely beautiful. I loved the decor and design! Our room was spacious and comfortable. The wifi was strong. It is very well located in the heart of El Poblado- beside lots of great bars, cafes and restaurants. The breakfast was outstanding- in fact we ate in the restaurant several times during our stay. I would 100% stay here again if returning to Medellin.
We had a great stay in this very charming hotel. They basically converted a very typical colombian house to a hotel. The room was very spacious for family like us and clean. All the staff is very considerate. The food is excellent and reasonably priced and made by lovely cooks. And the view from the rooftop is amazing by night. Highly recommend!
Brand new hotel/hostel in buzzling El Poblado, Medellin. Tatiana is a very sweet host and she can tell you all the ins and outs of this little paradise. Tatiana did the interior design all by here self. With eye for detail and nature. Refugio del Jaguar is a piece of art. Delicious breakfast. Amazing coffee. Super clean. Just perfect.
We were pleasantly surprised by this brilliantly designed, modern hotel. Funky, fun music, a beer upon arrival while we waited to check in, friendly staff, awesome room with a view, amazing rooftop bar.... this place is so fun and for $85/night with an AWESOME (included) breakfast.... one of our favorite places we stayed in Colombia.
This is a very nice hotel, with very good rooms and a very good breakfast buffet every morning. In a southern area of Medellin. It takes a 5-10-min taxi to get to the area of El Poblado for evening dinners. It's also good value overall, given the price of hotels in Medellin felt more expensive than the rest of the country.
Los Patios has a reputation that precedes it on the Colombia travel circuit and I was looking forward to checking it out during my visit to Medellin. It offers ample opportunity to join all the main tours, along with some less obvious options.
The staff were friendly and welcoming, always with a smile.
One of our favourite hotels we stayed in during our trip around Colombia. Very cool, modern. Our room was fab. The decor was cool and the bed was super comfy. The view from the elevator to the room was also very cool. The rooftop was lovely and so was the downstairs bar area.
Casa Selva is one of the best places i have lived at in Colombia. Nearly new and lovely decor. The sister and brother combo who manage the hotel are duolingo and are friendly helpful and attentive to your needs. Close to estadio markets and Cr 70. Is quiet and comfortable.
We enjoyed our stay here. The room was clean and the hotel is in a good area (El Poblado) with many restaurants and things to do. The rooftop pool and bar is nice. The Capture Colombia tour desk had some nice tours that we enjoyed. There is a cafe inside the hotel.
Location was excellently positioned to Provenza and Parque Lleras. More importantly, not enough good things can be said about the staff; not only polite, but helpful to travelers new to Colombia and learning to navigate some of the cultural nuances.
Amazing place to stay in Medellin! The neighbourhood is really nice with supermarkets, bakeries, cafes/restaurants. All perfectly clean and the shower has to be the best we’ve had in Colombia in the past 2 months. The kitchen is also amazing.
I loved staying here and will stay again on my return trip to Medellín! The hotel is in a very great location in el poblado. There is a pharmacy, delicious restaurant and shopping centers at walking distance. Also they give great breakfast!!
Perfect location where all the excitement is in El Poblado Medellin. Very nice spacious rooms, hot water, great breakfast, friendly staff. Didn't have a microwave though. I will go back to this hotel without a doubt.
Excellent service - much better than even in some 5* hotels in Colombia and elsewhere. Great location in Poblado. Very good value for money and flexible cancellations/changes policy. Overall - highly recommended.
Location is good being in El Poblado, the popular Medellin tourist spot on a relatively (by Colombian standards) quiet street, other European travellers in the hostel so making friends was easy
Hotel ok during colombian estadio festival / loud, noisy and typiclal colombia out partying and bullshit until 4 am and more / bogota boys / no respect or,dignity to fellow guests
