Travelled there for a cycling sportive and was absolutely amazed by the dedication of staff to provide a super early (4:30am) breakfast for all the riders out there. Really fueled us and inspired us to go hard that day. We've met Karen and other staff who were not only witty and fun to talk to, but also very helpful and attentive. This place is amazing and we will go there next year for sure.

The continental was plentiful but the cooked breakfast was a bit on the small side. That said, the staff were wonderful, very attentive, and very friendly towards us and the children.

Pitlochry was an incredible small town! We were pleasantly surprised by the great shopping selection, walkability to various local hikes, and delicious food (we highly recommend Explore Chocolate and Saorsa 1875).

The restaurants and nightlife were excellent considering the size of Pitlochry. Reasonable range of shops, not too tacky. Found accommodation relatively expensive compared to cities ie Glasgow, Dundee and on a par with Edinburgh.

Beautiful and friendly. The village is lovely with a good choice of bars, cafes and restaurants. There are great walks and excellent opportunities for cycling.
There are some interesting shops too and if you're into tweed, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

We first visited Pitlochry in autumn 2019 - it was delightful then - it’s now spring 2024 - just as enjoyable, not a lot has changed. The main shopping precinct is busy with bus tours and particularly with tourists over the weekend - early mornings are best to get a seat in a coffee shop . To beat the crowds, take the suspension bridge across Tummel River to the Port-na-Craig area - the stone cottages and pub by the river bank is a tranquil area to enjoy. Continue along the walking path to the ‘salmon ladder’ and beyond to Faskally Wood or much further to the Killiecrankie Visitors Centre.

Excellent care and evening dinner in The Bridge Restaurant.
Good pub grub and attentive staff in McKays Pub & Restaurant.
Pleasant staff in Old Mill Inn.
Mega bus to Edinburgh unreliable.
The hotel is nicely located at the top of Pitlochry Main street. It is set back from the road and has its own good sized car-park. The rooms and interior look to have just been refurbished to a very high standard and the whole feel of the hotel was of a premium quality. The rooms were very well appointed with super soft carpet, lovely bathroom and a huge TV. Beds were firm but comfy.
Breakfast was excellent. It was a buffet style help yourself style but all food was good quality, hot and extremely good.
Lovely staff, very welcoming and accomodating. And the dog was such a cute addition too! The hotel is just 5 mins walk to the main road in Pitlochry, and easily accessible both via car and walk/public transport. Room was clean and the bathroom had a nice shower, a big bath and also heated floor. Tasty breakfast, and we particularly loved the fact that all the products were local, and the attention to sustainability was clearly visible.
property is located very close to the city center. Room was spacious and the bed comfortable. Bit the best part of my trip here was the young chef that cooked the best meal I’ve had in Scotland. she really is a five star chef! The staff is very gracious and the young man that works the front desk couldn’t be any nicer and a very hard worker indeed. All of the staff at dinner was superb. Thank you to all that made our stay so wonderful!
Hotel was very nice. Traditional and full of character, which I like. Roaring log fires - big tick in chilly January. Room was spacious and comfortable. The gardens looked lovely and were one of the reasons we picked Pine Trees, but we ran out of time to explore them properly. Hotel staff were friendly and welcoming. Hotel is not far from Pitlochry main street, so easy to leave the car there and walk down.
Excellent stay at the acarsaid hotel , Karen couldn’t have done more for us , everything was very clean , the hotel had a very cosy homely feel, all amenities in the room , including a coffee machine , perfect location for Pitlochry town a two minute walk and you are at all the cafes bars and restaurants.
The room was cosy, comfortable and spotless. The hotel was very central and close to all amenities and was within easy walking distance to the Pitlochry Festival Hotel.
The many choices on the breakfast menu made it hard to choose. Will just have to visit again and try out something different each time?
Central location
Clean tidy rooms with a nice lounge if you just want to read the papers or a book
Very good shower and excellent breakfast
Pleasant courteous staff
First class option if you don’t want to climb the hill to the larger hotels in Pitlochry
Good parking
The location of the hotel is very good. As my son in law ran my daughter and myself up to Pitlochry for a few days and collected us we had no transport - that was the reason we wanted to be in the centre of the town. The meals were up to standard.
Easy check in. 5 minute walk from the train station and right on the Main Street in Pitlochry. Friendly hosts. Great home-cooked hot breakfast. The room was small but we enjoyed the front sitting room. Beautiful landscaped yard with picnic tables.
It is close to the railway station and the Atholl Road (which is the main road in Pitlochry). The breakfast was delicious and very healthy. There was free WiFi. The owner was friendly and helpful. I liked the big bed. The bathroom was very clean.
Beautiful guest house in perfect location close to town. We were able to park the car and walk to everything. Had dinner at The Fern Cottage and it was the best dinner we had in Scotland. Delicious breakfast and wonderful hosts.
Room was very roomy and nice. Breakfast was good and included in price. Location is amazing, right in downtown Pitlochry! The medieval look of the hotel is so cool. Pool is warm and sauna was nice. They have a steam room as well.
The location- quiet on the riverside- perfect for swimming, walking and access to Pitlochry for the etape Caledonia. Comfortable beds, expectations and communications clear, plenty of hot water, warm cosy space to relax in.
This is a great hotel for a visit to Pitlochry. Everything is within easy walking distance. Great breakfast included. Room was a decent size & had just been re-done, walk in shower - felt very spacious.
Gordon was stupendous — thinking always about what would make the stay good for us. The property was immaculate, and in an excellent location in charming Pitlochry
