One of my favorite spots in Greece. A beatiful little mountain town at the slopes of the Olympus mountain. Great small hotels and restaurants and endless trails to walk in the Olympus Mountain within a walking distanace.

if you plan to follow E4 in one day, better to take taxi to Prionia and hike from there. If you climb from the beginning , there is not much to see. on the way and you will get exhausted after 4 km since the trails are quite stepp with sharp rock.

The ambiance of the village is amazing, the views of ocean and mountains alike are unmatched. We probably would have stayed one more night as we didn't even get to the beaches but just had time to hike Mt. Olympus. You can walk to many restaurants and to the cool bars on the riverbank. The owner, Stavroula, is wonderful. She reached out to us before we arrived to let us know she would guide us to our parking spot, she was so welcoming and was always available to give us suggestions for restaurants and activities in the area. We enjoyed chatting with her over our morning coffee.
