The small hotel was so beautiful. The restaurant, the room (with a huge TV, a huge bed and nice garden view), all perfectly decorated.
Above all, we loved the 2 cosy outdoor hot tubs in their rock garden. Thank you!

Entrance to the Secret Lagoon was included into our stay, which wasn’t mentioned while we booked the stay. You can enter it as many times as you wish and stay as long as you like. Facility provided everything required: towels, bathrobes, crocks to enjoy the hot springs.
Staff super friendly and helpful. You have everything needed in the kitchen to cook lunch or dinner, including olive oil, salt, sugar, spices etc. Even fresh milk was provided each day. Super nice and sweat!!!

Centre of Fludir has grocery store, a gas station and 2 hotels - all four located very closely across the street. So we could get full tank of gadoline to drive further and wr had really good breakfast in hotel, but for the evening got some food in the shop. We didn't spend much time there and sayed only for one night driving through from one destination point to anothes as we dind't find any interesting object to visit in this town.

Fludir is a small village/town along Golden Circle. Perfect to break up your road trip to take more time to explore more of the area. Our kids loved the Fludir park with giant bouncy pad and zip line. We loved the delicious, authentic Ethiopian restaurant -Minilik, just a few minutes drive from the B&B.

I have stayed in Fludir several times- there really isn't anything to see here (aside from the Secret Lagoon which is great)! Dining options are also pretty limited.
I usually stay to be close to other things I want to see- it is close enough to KEF and Reykjavik to make both easy drives and also very close to the Golden Circle and Gulfoss to get an early start and beat the hoards of visitors coming in from the city for the day.

The biggest draw to Fludir is The Secret Lagoon, a geothermal pool fed by a spouting geyser. The facilities are fairly new and clean... and the lagoon itself is "to die for," very warm and relaxing.
I would highly recommend staying at the small guesthouse located on site - Garður Stay Inn. There is a kitchen, living room/lounge area, information table and a good sized shared bathroom, but only 4 rooms, so in-season it will fill up fast. We visited just past peak season, so had the guesthouse to ourselves!
My only "negative" would be the lack of open restaurants in the area.

We had limited time in Fludir.
We had limited time in Fludir. We did the tourist thing at the Tomato Farm and had a delicious pricy meal, and picked up some groceries and fuel. It looked nice. The hotel restaurant was good and the Ethiopian Restaurant was being renovated and may be a good alternative in the future. The town is well located to be a base for which to explore many standard tourist activities and even more challenging adventures for those that seek more.
Very new apartments in Fludir. We stayed in two apartments (one for kids and one for parents) and those were very convenient and clean. Everything seemed very new and worked very well. Check in and check our was without interaction (codes to key boxes by email) and worked smoothly. Owners were attentive and nice in email / booking conversations. Location is convenient for the Geysir area or as a base to cross the highlands via F35 north. There's a nice park next door with an air trampoline (good for kids). Very nice stay.
This hotel actually exceeded my expectations for the price paid. It felt like in a 4-star hotel, there are only minor things to criticize. Reception and service in the restaurant to their job very well and service is quick. Food was also quit good. I liked the big sleeping room that had an own terrace, which felt almost a bit like staying in a private apartment. I would definitely go again to this hotel.
Loved it here. The area is outside of Fludir but close enough to drive to restaurants and grocery store. Generally we were too tired to go out after exploring and hiking all day but thought the restaurants were great in this area. Was a large and comfortable cottage. Had everything you needed for a stay and host living nearby. Of course we made excellent use of the hot tub. Had a soak twice a day.
The apartment is big, comfortable, clean and locates very well. You can go to geysir or gullfoss in 20 mins, also easy to reach the small shop, petrol station and some restaurants around Fludir. The environment is very calm. only a little pity that the weather was not so good during our stay, so we cannot use hot tub which is very special.
Excellent and caring host. A family-run place with local character. Very friendly atmosphere. Not really a typical hotel - it is a rural house in the countryside. Close to geotermal spring (5 minutes by car) - a must-see ! While there - you have to try fish&chips in the booth at the entrance - the best we have tasted in Iceland !
Super friendly lady at the reception & restaurant. Quiet and comfy rooms with a view located a doorstep away from the Secret Lagoon : a nice way to end the day before having a meal and a good night of sleep. The hotel provides you with a voucher with a discount to access this hot pool.
- great location, remote, near secret lagoon
- kitchen with all facilities
- great place to spot aurora (if contions allow), no light pollution
- host lives at house nearby, self checkin, not disturbed
- heated floor, nice for walking
The design and little details of the place are amazing. Very nice kitchen with everything we needed, beautiful big room, a nice living room, some equipment for borrowing and great showers for much lower price than other hotels.
This was the cutest and most romantic hotel we stayed at in iceland. We enjoyed the top floor with the views and sunset, and hung out up there drinking wine and planning a great next day of adventures.
Home was well equipped and had lots of room. We loved being well positioned for the Golden Circle and just minutes from the Secret Lagoon. The host was communicative. It was clean and comfortable.
Lovely cabin on the golden circle. The cabin is well equipped and the hot tub was lovely after a day's sightseeing.
It's really warm and cosy. I'd recommend the restaurant in Hotel Fludir too.
the location was great—easy drive to Gullfoss glacier and Geyser. we also enjoyed The Secret Lagoon which was very close. having the grocery store across the street is very convenient.
Beautiful, quiet location. Rolling green hills surrounded by horse farms. Wild birds calling.
No loud road traffic. Peaceful. Near Fludir. Many must see’s less than 2 hours away.
The guesthouse is located in a convenient location, close to the restaurants and supermarkets in town. The breakfast provided was excellent, with plenty of options to choose from.
The location was great (and convenient for a stop by the secret lagoon next morning before the tour bus). The breakfast was great- included bread, yogurt, milk, jams, cereal, etc.
