The best hotel receptionist i have encountered during my holiday in Norway. She was extremely helpful and welcoming.
She has helped me to find where to park and made my day. The hotel is close to the ferry and it is dog friendly and there is a car park near. Highly recommend if you are in Kristiansand. Thanks for your hospitality.

The hotel was located conventiently near both the train and the ferry terminal. When attempting to check in before 15:00 the desk clerk was extremely rude, interrupting and admonishing me for arriving early before I could even introduce myself. We ended up having to wait until 50 minutes after official check-in time to have access to our room. We booked the Presidential Suite and were very disappointed with it. It was old and dated, with dirty carpet, dusty surfaces and missing both the bathrobes and slippers that were listed as provided amenities. Also, it is very annoying to have a mini-bar but no prices.
There was no telephone in the room so the only way to contact the staff was by going to the front desk and waiting in line. The property is very dated and in serious need of a renovation. In addition, the staff could use a refresher course in customer courtesy.

My trip to Kristiansand was primarily to visit my son . The city is very nice during the summer and believe that there are more activities, but not much to do during the winter , not unless it’s for shopping 🛍

Nearby water park and zoo (Dreypark) was fantastic, we spent the whole day there. Ferry ride from Lillesand to Kristiansand on the M/B Oya was spectacular, highly recommended to see the coast and small villages nestled among the islands. Book ahead to make sure you get on. We took the ferry one way and then took the city bus back to pick up the cars in Lillesand. Many restaurants to choose from in the downtown area.

Norway is stunning and beautiful.
Norway is stunning and beautiful. Kristiansand is the jumping off point after arriving on the Ferry from Hirtshals, Denmark. The drive along the southern coast is absolutely amazing. I would love to go back.
I had a fabulous stay at Sjøgløtt Gjestgiveri. Especially very friendly and helpful staff, operational manager Hina, who went out her way to make my stay as pleasant as possible, adhering to any request of mine, asking if I need anything, great and prompt communication. Comfy bed. Tasty self-made waffles and jam, free use of kitchen.
Located in center of town, still on a quiet street, close to beach.
I highly recommend this small hotel with a homey atmosphere,
Room size was great.
Unlike most of my experience in hotels in Norway this hotel contained a refrigerator which is great.
The view was spectacular and window was exptionaly large.

Great location , very quiet and within walking distance to shops , gas station and bus stop. Very short drive to Dyreparken . Host was kind and welcoming . Good size apartment for the 4 of us , cot provided and a nice terrace with small garden area. We were all very happy and will definitely be back again in the future !
Restaurant at the hotel was good. 150kr for pizza and drink on Monday and Tuesday. We liked the red pizza’s. Pasta was also good. Friendly staff as well.
Kids friendly.
Breakfast was good. Everything you expect at a hotel.
Comfortable beds.
Short walk to shops.
During my six week trip through Norway, this hotel had, without a doubt, the finest and most appetizing looking breakfast of all the hotels. The hotel is a short, easy walk from the train and bus stations and is in the center of the town square, next to the cathedral.
The buffet breakfasts were fantastic - best ever encountered. Room & bathroom were good & well kept. Free WiFi throughout the hotel. Close to a beach and easy walking distance into Kristiansand.
Kind host, the tiny house very clean and practical. Chairs and table put down for us in the warm evening sun. And convenieny close to the early evening boat from Hirsthals to Kristiansand.
Everhthing: the house atmosphere, unique interior, quite surroundings, lots of light inside. Kitchen had all you can need to cook, bed was comfy. Great Norway house experience!!
the Hotel is located in the middle of Kristiansand with access to numerous restaurants by foot. check-in was very smooth, easy and covid-safe. rooms are very big and modern.
