Really liked the area, the location of the hotel.
Really liked the area, the location of the hotel.
Hospitality was fine but some things were really amateuristic or even unprofessional, like very bad English and / or German speaking staff.
The restaurant is an absolute no go.
A home made version of mint tea seems to be a tea bag in hot water and home made fries come from the freezer.
Very old fashioned, very limited choices, absolutely nothing available without meat.

Lovely, very picturesque, nice restaurants, very affordable for small budget, too.
Restaurant Ve dvore in Decin, duck was very nice, didn't care much for the bread dumplings
Restaurant Bamboo in Hrensko, pleasant.
Hotel restaurant Vypres, very nice.
Getting around in Decin is easy. However, the public transport schedules have changes in certain periods in the year, so read bus schedules carefully, or you might find out a certain bus doesn't ride anymore at a certain time after (f.e. 3 september) a certain date.
Tip for hikers: Google maps isn't very precise with the yellow trail's starting point: to avoid wandering, ask Tourist information the precise starting point!

Děčín is an ideal base for exploring the region and national...
Děčín is an ideal base for exploring the region and national park of České Švýcarsko with all of its natural and cultural attractions to be accessed by hiking, cycling, climbing, rafting, etc. Among the top destinations in the neighbourhood are the Tiské stěny (really exceptionally beautiful rock formations), the Soutěsky Kamenice (a marvellous gorge with 2 boat trips), and the Pravčická brána (the largest natural sandstone arch in Europe) although the latter is a bit over-touristic. While the town is relatively small (about 47,000 inhabitants), it has a lot of restaurants of different levels and styles, and is excellently connected to Prague and Berlin via non-stop Eurocity trains. The town itself has a small but nice historic centre, with the castle being its most important historic attraction. If you like swimming (incl. whirlpools, slides, etc.), visit the really enjoyable and inexpensive Aquapark, which also has its own hotel ("Aqua Hotel").

Děčín is a very nice town.
Děčín is a very nice town. Its a bit quiet now but many things to see. Very close to Hrensko where u can have nice walks.
The castle is nice to visit.
Parking is free in the weekends.
Best Restaurants : Fabrika (old factory transformed into a restaurant)
Good service, good nice filled plates and good quality.
and Restaurace růžové zahrady.
Good service , nice czech dishes and nice terrace.
Bad Restaurant: Athena (Greek restaurant in the castle) The service was terrible and unfriendly. They kept us waiting and didn't care to attend the table for over 20 minutes. The fish was not fresh but frozen and the salad was old. They charged way too much for the quality and quantity. But mainly the service is not what u expect from a restaurant located in a castle. Dont go there!

Nice city, not too big and not too touristy.
Nice city, not too big and not too touristy. To get to the other side of the river by foot is a little difficult, however there a plenty of citybusses. You can change money from the Czech State Railwaycompany (Ceske Drahy) at the main railwaystation without commission and pretty good rates, there are nice little bars, kavarna close to the hostel, especially the surroundings of Decin are amazing beautyful. I would more recommend to leave the city and take a train or bus to the mountains, to the little villages or hire a bike (along the river you can easily cycle). At the same main train station (hlavni nadrazi) you can rent bikes for 180 Kc per day.
It was a very nice stay in Decin. Good hostel, good location. I was very satisfied with it.
Good choice.
Important thing for travelers: there is a project to support tourism in this area running from 1 Nov 2022 till May 2023. Here u can read about it.

When I stayed in Děčín, this hostel didn't take part in the program. Maybe its changed now. Check it out.
Anyway it is a nice place to stay ♥️
Next to a great on-site restaurant and a super bakery / delicatessen selling “out of this world” ice-cream. Spacious apartments, terraces own or shared rooftop terrace. Over all great architecture / design. Groceries store and chemist within 5 minuets walk. Very convenient location for stroll to Decin castle and its wonderful grounds and also for Hrensko by car or bus.
Location is perfect for exploring the national park and is five minutes away from Decin and five minutes from two very good Lidl supermarkets. Assuming you have hired a car, the place is only half an hour from any decent walks in the park.
Hot water was plentiful and the loo flushed well. The shower was powerful, even if you could only use it one handed - see below,
Everything was absolutely perfect !
The apartment is very close to a bus stop so it was easy to get to the national park nearby.
Ivana was lovely and it was very easy to speak with her and get everything we needed.
We felt like home and enjoyed the kitchen to cook during our stay.
I would definitely recommend this place if anyone wants to stay in Decin!
The room is right in the centre of Decin, it has easy access to railway station for trips around Decin and its surroundings. It was spacious and clean. Kitchen was fully equipped for those who wanted to make their own meals. Owner was very polite and explained everything in great detail, also kept in touch with us prior to arrival. Free WIFI.
1. Excellent location: the hotel is within walking distance from the town's attractions, cafes, and a supermarket.
2. Clean and spacious room.
3. Safe garage for bicycles.
4. Friendly and helpful staff.
5. Good breakfast.
We have used this cheaper hotel several times already. A nice calm place close to the Ceske Svycarsko national park and Decin city. A small restaurant provides quite cheap and tasty dinners. Pleasant staff.
The location was good, close to a couple of Decin landmarks in a quiet part of the town. The bed was comfortable. The property was kind to prepare a nice crib for our toddler. The staff was friendly.
Fast check in, miss at the reception (which is reception for both - hotel and fitness center) was very kind and helpful. Restaurant in the hotel is good, breakfast (we paid separately) was delicious.
The host is very nice man. I also like the flat. There were all needed dishes for cooking. It is close to train station. If I come back to Děčín, I will definitely book this flat :-)
We liked the location of the hotel… Parking and restaurants where all in the same area making it convenient to go out and grab food that was delicious, with great service as well.
We enjoyed the unlimited access to the outdoor swimming pools. The room was equiped with a small fridge. The hotel is very well located close to the city center and a supermarket.
Authentic hotel (probably family-owned) with fancy wall decorations. I wish we could get Star Wars appartment ;). Very friendly owners. Nice breakfast.
