Zaragoza is a wonderful city, an undiscovered gem.
Zaragoza is a wonderful city, an undiscovered gem. I have been several times before so maybe I am biased, but the history of the city is fantastic to discover, the food a delight, the small tapas places a joy to visit. A great place to socialise. It has got a little more expensive over the years but where hasn't.

Zaragoza is a clean and safe city full of history, great...
Zaragoza is a clean and safe city full of history, great restaurants, and cafés and easy transportation. We have been to much of Spain but didn't really know anything about Zaragoza. We booked it on a whim. While fairly close to Madrid I think that it is off the beaten path of English speaking people. We encountered the Spanish language almost exclusively but we had zero problems communicating with the lovely people that we encountered. We adored this beautiful place.

20 minutes from the city center.
20 minutes from the city center. On the face of the hotel it was not appealing, however the interior was clean and pleasant, the staff helpful and polite with the Spanish restaurant a bonus.
Would definitely stay again and for longer

Ancient city with some spectacular architecture.
Ancient city with some spectacular architecture. Lots of restaurants and shopping. Walkable and seemed safe. The Palacio de la Aljafería is a spectacular Mujedar style castle, well worth a visit. Plan on a lot of businesses closing in the afternoon and re-opening in the evening. I would have stayed a little longer to see more of the Roman ruins which are in different places in the old city, but it was a pleasnt one-day stop.

Zaragoza is a great City to visit.
Two days are enough to see all.
If you are staying longer, consider hiring a car and undertaking a day trip north to Alquezar for one day and south to the 'Monasterio de Piedra' on another.

Lovely Islamic-era palace, though probably not as impressive...
Lovely Islamic-era palace, though probably not as impressive as those further south, which I've yet to visit. Interesting Roman ruins. Views of old Zaragotha are great if you cross the bridge to the more modern half of the city.
Not too touristy; some good and reasonably-priced cafes and restaurants and mouth-watering food market.
Running out of things to do after than 2-3 days - though it's not a bad place to sit in a square and read.
Location was very good, although there's construction work happening in the street in front of it (it's currently closed for traffic).
Staff allowed us to keep our luggage stored in the reception after checking our, and helped with parking payment instructions.
Shower was warm in the right way and with good water flow.
Bed was firm, this is to my liking but it might not be for everyone.
Room was somewhat large, although with some odd corners in the room and bathroom.
Zaragoza is a busy city and trying to find a place that allowed parking was going to be expensive and difficult to deal with. This hotel is very basic in an unappealing, industrial part of the city. But, it provides what budget conscious travelers with cars need - a safe, clean place with very friendly staff, super-clean, functional little cafe on the ground floor where the local workers come for a coffee and pastry. I was expecting much less for the money.
absolutely fantastic choice when you travel through Spain. Zaragoza is vibrant beautiful city, with great nightlife, so even though we arrived after 11p.m we had a chance to walk around, and after that we had a fantastic sleep night at the HOSTAL. Room was clean with very comfortable bed and lots of cushions. there was an aircon so we had enough of air to have a good dreams in the middle of summer. Would definitely book it again!
The Reception staff were very informative and helpful. The room wax very comfortable and with a fridge. We also loved hearing the cathedral bells.
Everything was straightforward and easy, so much so that we enquired about staying another time later in the year.
Thank you for helping us to have a great start to our Road trip adventure of northern Spain and what a great city Zaragoza is!
The hotel could not be in a better location for visiting the sites of Zaragoza, the main ones within a few hundred yards across the bridge in front of the hotel. It is worth asking for a room with a view. The hotel also has a car park (although the entrance was initially difficult to find) but worth the 12 euros per 24 hour as parking is at a premium in the area.
Location, location, location. You cannot beat the spot where this hotel is located. The view from our room was unbeatable and it was amazing for people watching. Truly a gem. The staff was super helpful and there was always someone at the front desk for any needs. You are close to main touristy spots in Zaragoza, lots of dining options around and night life.
I am still lying in these clean soft sheets… I think I should buy the same and start ironing 🤣.It’s obvious the hotel is old and has a classic approach for welcoming. It’s very clean! People definitely know what they are doing. I would come again! And I will recomend the hotel to my mates coming to Spain to!!
The location was excellent; the room sizeable, comfortable and clean; breakfast was good (although the coffee machine was temperamental at times); and the reception staff were generally very helpful. Zaragoza is a lovely place to visit for 3-5 days and Hotel Alfonso makes an excellent base.
the aparthotel has a lot of facilities including gym and spa. it is also located in the centre of Zaragoza. The staff are also helpful and was able to communicate with us in english. The aparthotel we got has a lot of space and made our stay comfortable.
well above our expectations.tea and coffee in bedroom, huge

we love this hotel. we stay here every time we come to Zaragoza and it never disappoints. the staff are amazing, Sebastian especially! the rooms are comfortable and super quiet. the bathrooms are spacious and have everything you need.
It was just off the motorway on our way through Spain which made it super easy to get to and the restaurant was open til late. The room was very spacious.
