Breakfast was great ! Good buffet, refurbished and refurbished - breakfast set us for the day. Must praise Rosita who kept the buffet running, and was so kind and helpful. Also praise for the Receptionist Emma too, she was helpful and gave us good advice on where to go for dinner and where to visit outside of Bari. The Apulian capital Bari has been known for its port since Roman times. Nowadays there are 2 harbours: cruise ships and ferries to Greece and Croatia depart from the new port, while the old port shelters fishing vessels.
Between them is a seafront road bordering the real attraction – the old town. Narrow, cobbled streets lead under arches to hidden piazzas with pavement cafes. Many are on adjoining Piazza Mercantile and Piazza del Ferrarese, where the old Roman road is exposed.
The imposing 12th-century Norman-Swabian Castle guards the west of the historic centre, and the simple Cathedral of San Sabino is from the same period. Equally understated is the Basilica of St Nicholas, housing relics of the saint. Pope John Paul II once prayed there, which may have given rise to Bari Airport’s name: Karol Wojtyła Airport.
Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the meeting point of the old town and the Murat district, built under orders of Napoleon’s brother-in-law. Facing each other across this street are the colourful façades of the municipal office and Piccinni Theatre, though most prestigious is the Petruzzelli Theatre opera house.
Booking.com’s Bari accommodation includes luxury hotels by the Fiera del Levante, cheap city centre apartments, and B&Bs near the train station. For families, the slides and swimming pools of Bari Acquapark make a great day out.
Lovely vibrant city, nice mix of old & new. We arrived on Saturday morning left Sunday afternoon. Clean city, friendly people & felt safe wandering around. Enjoyed a free walking tour.
Would love to return & would definitely recommend.

When we walked from the station to our apartment we were very worried as Bari looked a little seedy but when we got down to the waterfront and the old town we were enchanted. Lovely little winding alleys with so much to see including beautiful churches and wonderful places to eat. Don’t miss the street of the nonnas all sitting in doorways making pasta.

Bari is a walkable city with something for everyone, old town, beach, shopping, lovely food and plenty to see. Transport links are good to allow you to visit more of Puglia. We enjoyed Matera, Alberobello, Locorotondo, Monopoli and Poligno a Mare

A charming resort town with not a lot of things to do, with the exception of the vast choice of traditional Italian food and cuisine, which perfectly captures the spirit of Italy. It has everything in a tight package.

Bari is interesting and certainly worth a visit.
Bari is interesting and certainly worth a visit. The old town is crowded and busy and the narrow streets are fun to explore but your jostled quite a bit and we were warned about pickpockets. Parking is also VERY difficult and all the car parks were fil and closed off. We got lucky and found a spot but it was luck!

The staff at the tourist info are very cordial and speak good English. Recommend to book a city tour to get to know Bari and it's traditions better. Visits to nearby towns may be easily planned beforehand using trains and buses. Not to miss Alberbello, Polignano a Mare, Grotte di Castellana, Matera and Lecce.
The location was perfect, close to the main shopping street leading to the old neighborhood and the train station. It had great attention to detail, we felt like a 5 stars hotel. Really impressed with everything, especially the bed (the most comfortable ever! and the bathroom!)
We didn't miss anything for the 3 nights we stayed, there is good internet and big screen TV, big curtains to make the room good for sleep, and Michele was extraordinarily nice and helpful to guide us to enjoy the most of Bari.
This property is meticulously maintained. It’s lovely & tastefully decorated, super clean and quite spacious. Ideally located in the heart of old town with a 10 walkability, very safe, near historic landmarks, restaurants, shops. Big bonus is the host, Damian , who is so kind and helpful. He goes out of his way to help and answer questions. It’s Italian hospitality at its best. I cannot ask for a better 24 hour experience in Bari!
We stayed at Suite Torre Arcobasso in late May, a family of four renting both apartments. This is an amazing historic building, with exceptional features, very comfortable and nicely furnished apartments at the best location in Bari. Can only recommend! Alesandro was simply a great host, met us in person despite we arrived late in the evening and went out of his way to answer all of our questions and make our stay perfect.
Hotel is amazing! it is ex Sheraton, luxury, great rooms spacious, comfy beds, great breakfast and coffee (continental) hot drink service at the table during breakfast! Super nice staff (reception / cleaning / restaurant) chillout music in the bathroom! Great SPA area (free) Free Airport Shuttle! Is the best hotel in Bari, guaranteed you do not find better / more fancy. We highly recommend this hotel!
This is a perfect b&b for a city break, especially if you want to be close to Bari Central Train station. Everything else is also within easy reach. the old town, the shops, the port and the beach. despite being so central the rooms are really quiet and cool (I was there during a really hot spell). The staff are friendly and helpful…it’s the prefect city - break hotel.
Great hotel, absolutely great location, just 3 minutes from the Bari Centrale, so easy to reach by walking. Located at about 10-15 minutes by walking distance from the Bari old town and central part. Very kind staff! We booked 2 rooms and they were big enough, comfortable and clean. They kindly looked after our bags while we waited for our evening flight at 10 PM.
The location was one of the best features of the apartment. On a pedestrianized street, it was quiet at night without noise from cars. Four blocks in one direction was the train station and five or six blocks in the other direction was the old town of Bari. Grocery stores and restaurants and the sea were all within an easy walking distance.
We did an easy on line check-in beforehand and we were given the entrances codes. The room was so cool and frangrant. It’s close to the train station, so if you are passing through Bari it’s ideal, but if you want to stay a few nights I would stay in the old town. I would return to this hotel but I would book it without breakfast.
Great place with a lovely pool, a wonderful garden and the best croissants ever. ( at breakfast ).
We had just one night in Bari, on the last minute, and this property has many to offer, now and in the future.
Many thanks to hotel manager, very nice and helpful, he was there in the morning to ensure that everything its ok.
This is the second time we stayed at this B&B. The first time I gave them 5 stars. This time, if only I could, I would give them 7 stars. The two extra stars are for the kindness and helpfulness of the owners, who would bend backward to help their guests. We will certainly be back here any time we are in Bari.
The Metropolitan is definitely one of the finest of the many B&B's we have enjoyed and very likely the best equipped. The breakfast, with the heated pastries, was more than ample. The location next to the Bari rail stations was perfect for us and very quiet. The host, Pier, was friendly and efficient.
It is a lovely place to stay in Bari. The hotel is cosy and modern with all its smart functionallities. The staff is very frendly. Location is perfect, near by old town and in 10 minutes away from the railway station.
This hotel is in the best part of Bari - old town Bari! It also had a kitchenette which was a really nice surprise after being in hotels without any kitchen facilities - great location and really lovely staff.
Location. Room view. I stayed at 2 places in Bari. 1st at 4star Palace hotel. And surely, this place was better than a 4star hotel. Surely, would stay here again. Highly recommended.
