Very helpful and kind host, accommodated storing our bags for 12 hours on day of check out.
We (3 people) stayed in a private bunk bed room and each bunk is fully self contained with charging ports, shelf and a blind. There was enough space in the room for 3 large and 3 small cases and also storage lockers available.

Travelled solo to do some hikes in seoraksan national park. It was a little further away compared to other hotels however, for the cleanliness & comfort, I would definitely forgo the time on the bus to stay here again.

Despite the weather and the fact that the restaurant we wanted to go closed at 6h30 pm, which was too early for our stomach, we had a great time in Lotte Resort, especially with the spa, the noraebang and the game zone located in the same building !

Room was clean and cute. Had a nice view of the Sokcho Eye, though our view of the sea was blocked by trees. Great location for exploring the beach, and nice brew pub/ coffee shops close by.

This is a brand new hotel which is nowhere even close to 2 stars. It is a modern business hotel with very comfortable rooms, good showers, wifi, AC and English speaking staff. Parking is also ample. The price was ridiculously small too.

Getting to Sokcho is pretty easy from Seoul. Perfect place for sea food lovers! Beaches are very clean. And all the places are accessible by public transport bus. Pizzalazza restaurant for pizzas, Lotteria for vegan burgers- highly recommended. Sokcho eye gives you a very beautiful view of the city. Naksansa temple is very beautiful. So is Seoraksan national park- treat for nature lovers, both are easily accessible by bus.

A popular gateway for visiting Seoraksan National Park.
A popular gateway for visiting Seoraksan National Park. Sokcho Tourist & Fishery Market is a large traditional market offering many local products (eg. fresh and dried seafood) and local street food. Convenient bus services operate within Sokcho and out of Sokcho. There is a beach at the southern end of the city. We saw several new high rise buildings under construction indicating further expansion of the city in the near future.

I really like to visit seoraksan national park for mount hiking.
I visited Sokcho fish market and had King crab.
Bus 7 and 7-1 go to Sokcho express bus terminal/ Sokcho intercity bus terminal/ Sokcho seafood market.
I used to stay resort before. It is nice and good scenery but I had to use taxi all the time. I stayed near Sokcho express bus terminal/Sokcho beach this time, it save lots of transportation cost, so I enjoyed king crab.

The is a not springs foot bath in Sockcho that I have never experience elsewhere and is a great stop. We could have spent a week in the National Park on trails.

The beach was nice: not too crowded on week days but a little overcrowded on weekends. The sand was a little rough, so by the end of the day my feet were sore. If I went again I would only stay Monday-Friday, as parking near the beach was impossible to find on Saturday.

Visions of Sokcho: where the mountains meet the sea.
Sokcho-si is a beautiful coastal city located in the northeast of the Gangwon-Do province of South Korea.
The city is famous for its history, culture, national parks, natural beauty, and local cuisine. The city is a popular gateway to the famous Seoraksan National Park.
Unfortunately it was raining and we couldn't hike Seoraksan, but we were able to stroll around the city.
James was a great host. He gave us lots of recommendations on what to do in Sokcho and Seoraksan National Park, and helped us sort some bus tickets for our next destination. The hostel’s location is excellent - it’s a 15 minute walk from the intercity bus station and only a short bus from the express bus terminal. It’s also only a short walk from the bus stop to Seoraksan and there are lots of food options in the nearby market. The room was comfortable enough and had an excellent shower!
The Sokcho Hütte was a pleasant place to stay a few days. The intercity bus terminal is just around the corner but you won’t know it if staying there. And the bus station to the mountains is nearby, too. The owner is kind, helpful and attentive for his guests and comes by every day to make breakfast and cleans the house. The dormitory with the bathroom inside is very clean and you have your own privacy with the curtains. The checkin was also very easy. Definitely a recommendation!
I stayed in Sokcho for one night, I booked a six-men room. At check-in I was met by a very friendly and charismatic administrator, who told me everything at once, showed me on the map how to get to the Seoraksan National Park, and where are the rooms in the hostel building. In addition, which was a complete surprise for me, offered a free upgrade to a single room with a comfortable wide bed, TV, bathroom inside and even some terrace (balcony). Spent a great night here, loved it!
The owners, Mr. and Mrs. Lee were hospitable, informative and personable to make sure for all the guests have their best exprience while visiting Sokcho. My four day trip was more than expectation. Because of their detailed information, I could visit facinating places including nice restaurants, a hot spring as well as local attractions such as Seoraksan National Park. I highly recommand this guest house: good location, safe, reasonable price for the best service.
The no contact check in and out was super easy and efficient. The room was spacious and clean. The bed was comfy. Kitchen was fully equipped and bathroom was great. We stayed here as we wanted to visit Seoraksan National Park. The bus stop to the park was a 2 minute walk away and buses were very frequent so would definitely recommend this hotel if you’re going to the national park but want to stay somewhere that has a bit more to offer.
Location is unparalleled, being footsteps from the entrance of Seoraksan National Park. The closest hotels/motels/guesthouses are another 1km out. The service is great, with staff speaking decent English and taking the initiative to offer assistance. We stayed 3 nights in March, and were pleasantly surprised to be able to check in at 11am and even got upgraded to a bigger room!
The bustation really is close to the hotel and you can reach the national park via bus within a few minutes. If you arrive in Sokcho late in the evening you'll have to take a taxi to the hotel though, since the last bus towards the hotel leaves around 7:45 pm. But its not expensive. The hotel owner is really nice and the rooms are comfortable, we enjoyed our stay there!
The couple that runs The Blue Door are the nicest, most hospitable pair. Good English is spoken. Very kind and accommodating. Their dog Barry, a very friendly black lab, is an extra attraction. The location near the beach and near the Sokcho boardwalk is great. My single room was big enough for one person and very clean and comfortable.
Nice & simple rooms and very friendly and helpful staff. Bed heater! (Very nice after a rainy hike) Good location for reaching Seoraksan park and you could also easily arrive from Sokcho station with bus 7-1. I loved the atmosphere around the place with the abandoned hotels!European breakfast and convenience store nearby.
Yoo was really helpful and gave us all the info for our day trip to Seoraksan !
The room was clean and the bathroom was spacious and nice. The communal room is cozy.
One of the two bus terminals of Sokcho is just 5mn away on foot
We were also able to do an early check-in, thanks a lot for that !
Cute and quiet apartment in a very convenient location for exploring Sokcho. The apartment is fully outfitted with toiletries, dishes for use, laundry detergent, etc. A/C worked extremely well. The owner was very communicative. It was perfect for what we needed and we’d absolutely book it again.
Very friendly staff, the owner gave me directions to all the places in Sokcho worth visiting. The common room has very pleasant atmosphere. My room had a sea view. The location is close to the Express bus terminal and the beach is just across the street.
The hotel is so close to Sokcho Beach. The room is cleaned every day. The bed sheets and pillows are so clean. Kitchen is really good, the coffee machine and micrıwave were wonderful. There is even a washing machine in the room.
It’s a pretty nice hotel! I like that this place is practically opposite to the express bus terminal. It’s also walking distance from Sokcho Beach. In cooler seasons, you can easily walk to Daepo Port and Sokcho Market.
Modern, clean hotel with a very nice bath room. Good price. The best breakfast buffet during our trip. Bus to Seoraksan National Park has a stop 2 min (walking distance) from the hotel.
Great location in front of Sokcho beach. The hotel is very new and clean. The beds are very comfortable. Overall a great place to stay. Great value for the money!
