My late flight made me checked in late. I was starving but unfortunately the kitchen closed. Fortunately the bartender was very very nice and managed to get me a pizza. Really nice of him. Love everything about the stay.

As the end of the Geiranger Fjord, the village is constantly under a constant flow of tourists coming with the huge cruise ships.
The village per se has nothing else special versus other Norwegian villages on any other fjord, but this constant movement of people from the ships gives it the opportunity to be super busy and even more expensive than the normal expensive Norway.

It is probably one of the nicest areas of Norway, and the Geiranger Fjords should be visited by everyone when in Norway.
Despite the distances involved, visitors should get out and about, driving cars there requires some skill and attention, but the roads are well maintained. (Watch out for hikers and bikers!).
A day trip to Alesund is also recommended!

Geiranger is one of the most attractive destinations in the world , the nature itself is a reward and what i suggest is that the concerned authorities can add more services here and there to meet the needs and the expectations of all tourists from all over the world , like more supermarkets , more shopping options etc

Nice little village but very touristy when cruise liners are in. Limited choice of restaurants. Lots of tourist goods shops, boat trips available along with kayaking etc. A nice place to chill for a couple of days.

The cabin was well equipped with microwave, oven and kettle. The place is clean and the bathroom was very spacious. The space was just nice, compact but not too small. There was also laundry in the bathroom and dryer close by. This was a real plus as I was travelling around Norway for over 25 days.
The location was 5 mins from town and the road to and from town was very easy. Great location with beach view

So many natural beauty places to see around here, and hikes to do. I would recommend hiring a boat for fjord exploration at your own pace. Taking a short drive to the Dalsnibba viewpoint is a must, as well as to any of the other close-by viewpoints. Walk the steps next to the powerful display of water flowing into the fjord. Take a canoe/kayak and see the many waterfalls from up close.
This was our most expensive hotel in norway, and it was definately worth it.
We took 2 double rooms with views to the fjord, and waking up to this view every morning was amazing.
Everything in this hotel is excellent - the rooms, the breakfast, the staff, the washer&dryer on the 5th floor (didn't find those in any other hotel on this trip), the coffee maker in the room.
Proximity to the village is great (minutes away by car), and yet distant enough from the masses.
Highly recommend this hotel!
The bed in this hotel was the most comfortable I have ever slept in (very soft!), I wish I had one at home. It had a down comforter, soft pillows, and a pillow top mattress that was just heaven. The breakfast was fantastic and had a ton of options. The view was beautiful of the fjord. The staff were very friendly. The window blinds blocked most of the light. Bathroom was nice and a spacious shower. There was a minifridge in the room with a coffee machine.
The remote location in the mountains and the view to the lake.
Heated floor in the bathroom.
The staff is soo nice, joyful and helpful.
Great breakfast delivered in front of your room.
Right next to Dalsniba road, 20 mins to the start of scenic route Gamle Strynefjellsveg and 30 mins from Geiranger, actually on Geiranger Trollstigen scenic route.
We stayed for 2 nights and could have easily stayed another week to explore the entire area.
The drive down to Geiranger was beautiful! Vinje was tucked away in the mountain. We arrived at night so we didn't see the view but we were so pleasantly surprised to wake up to a beautiful view and giant mountains making us feel small! The nature itself made the location and stay sooo worth it! The cabin itself was very comfy and cozy! There was a patio deck to enjoy the view. The staff was very nice and even gave us an upgrade!
The cabin had a beautiful view over Geiranger. It had a cozy atmosphere and we had all the basics we needed. Beds were comfortable. We liked that we weren't expected to clean the place before we left - we just had to leave it tidy. At first we found it a bit strange coming from Namibia, but it really does help that they are very strict about guests keeping the toilets and showers clean themselves. People seem to then mess less.
Loved the view if the Geiranger fjord! The room had a balcony with view of the fjord. Big room and loved that the room had a bathtub. And the hotel is located just infront of the fjord. Amazing breakfast buffé that has everyhting to expect and more. Supermarket next to the hotel. Easy to book activities that has pick up by the hotel. Worth the money to stay here, it gives a really good night sleep cause its calm surroundings.
the location is absolutely gorgeous with a spectacular view over Geiranger. Ian is a fine host, who talks a lot with good anekdotes, has great ideas (in the morning 😉): your suggestion for sailing to Bergen with Hurtigruten was brilliant, alas there was no space left for our car. also great suggestion for a restaurant. and I loved the ride from Eidsdal to Geiranger, but also the ferry to Hellesylt.
The owner is extremely friendly and cares for making your stay truly exceptional.
We excepted a great apartment but got more than surprised by it. The view is amazing, it is equipped with everything you need. It feels cozy like a traditional norwegian cabin, but has modern parts where needed.
If you stay for some days in Geiranger, you have to book this place!
What a wonderful experience it was! The home is lovely, well situated. Ian and his wife were very generous and gracious hosts. Our room was clean and very comfotable. What a view!
Ian is a true ambassador of Norway! It was a pleasure talking to him. It was a very delitful evening. Ian made our trip more personal and genuine.
The view from our room of the fjord was spectacular! I really enjoyed the little deck on our floor to sit and enjoy the magnificent scenery. The restaurant offered a wonderful menu and the food was so so good!
The staff was warm and very helpful. I would stay here again.
Beautiful view. Great little space to stay. Friendly and helpful staff. Great if you have a car. Is not in the Geiranger city center, which was a GOOD THING as it gets crowded with tourists. Would highly recommend!
The view from the hotel is fantastic. Breakfast is good and the staff are friendly and helpful. The location has a good distance to the center and close to hiking trails for super active visitors.
The location and the view was very nice. Restaurant was very good and the stuff was very charming. There were some goats around and my kid really enjoyed.
It is located just next to the Geiranger fjord! (If you don't have a car, it takes a 30min walk from the stop of the ferry to here)
The view is so nice!!
