Alberobello is a special town.
Alberobello is a special town. There is really nowhere else quite like it. That said, it is clearly a town that caters to and derives much of its economy from tourists. I don't think a visit during high season would be as enjoyable as during early April, when I was there. There is much to see in the surrounding area as well, so one does not need to spend more than two days exploring the town itself, which is compact and easy to navigate on foot.

The Trulli are wonderful to see during the day and at night they are magical. Plenty of eating options too. We hired a private driver from Bari Airport and were dropped off at the door of our stay in Alberobello. As we had a two night stay - we had time to walk/hike around the countryside close to Alberobello.

The accommodation and location was perfect.
The accommodation and location was perfect.
The downside was that Booking.com advised there was 6 Euro daily parking or 2 Euro per hour however that is not correct. Parking in Alberobello is paid parking only for visitors at 2 Euro per hour between 9am and midnight so daily cost for parking was 30 Euro per day. As we stayed 2 full days it cost us 60 Euro which was not expected. We expected to pay 12 Euro as per booking.com advice.

Alberobello is a magical place of trulli that's easy to navigate. We stayed outside town (in a trulli) but went into town in the evening for dinner and to see the town by night. Dinner was great, but the town is pretty quiet, so don't worry about getting accommodation right in town.

Roberto met us at the door and showed us through the trullo.
Roberto met us at the door and showed us through the trullo. He was incredibly patient and accommodating even with our limited English. There is so much care and attention to detail here, and the breakfast was beautiful too. They even catered to Coeliac disease! We will recommend this to everyone, and can’t wait to stay here again!

Definitely worth checking out for the uniqueness of the trulli. However, it’s unfortunate that they’ve basically turned the Rione Monti neighbourhood into a kind of circus, with all of the tacky souvenir shops. If visiting, I highly recommend checking out Rione Aia Piccola instead - this is the eastern part of the town where locals are actually living in trulli and there are no souvenir shops. Also, one or two nights is more than enough. If staying longer, consider doing a day trip to Locorotondo or Martina Franca.
We stayed in 5 different places in our 2 week trip in Italy, and this was our favorite place. We had a very warm welcome and Martino gave a very good introduction to the town with restaurant and activity recommendations. It felt like he went above and beyond in making sure we are comfortable. The breakfast was amazing, he got the best pastries. The place had everything we needed. It was also close to a coin operated laundromat. On top of that, the place was absolutely beautiful and clean. We enjoyed having breakfast in the garden.
Really nice stay in a trulli. An experience you should’ve experienced by yourself once you go to Alberobello. The trulli is spacious and even in the hot summer it is comfortable in the trulli due to the airconditioning. Stefano is kind and explains everything upon arrival. Some pastries and other things such as bread and cornflakes are included to have a nice breakfast. It is located at +/- 2 minutes walk from the full Trulli village. Wifi is good at the accommodation. Free parking near the accommodation.
Mirum Apuliae is lovely in the middle of Alberobello. the studio provides everything you Need with a comfortable bed upstairs.
from the studio you can easily walk to visit lovely Alberobello with its trullis. many restaurants are nearby in walking distance
Check in was very easy and flexible with Victor and his wife with very friendly contact beforehand , parking is just 5mins from the studio, which is perfect
I can highly recommend staying there!
Amazing accommodation! Location in the centre of the town, close to car park, the Trulli home is spacious but homey/cosy, the decor is stunning and the inclusions are beyond what we expected. We checked in slightly earlier and received a bottle of wine, free beverages in the fridge, Lindt chocolates and snacks. By far one of our favourite stops while in Italy for 3 weeks! Highly recommend.
This is one of my favorite places I’ve ever stayed in all of Italy (and I’ve traveled extensively through the country many times). The owner/property manager is so sweet. There is an espresso and tea maker in the room, and lots of provided snacks and goodies (juice, prosciutto, cheese, bread, cookies, croissants, etc). It is centrally located and overall just perfect. 10/10 would recommend
The trulli house was beautiful…attention to every detail. It was a beautiful place to relax after walking all day. It also had a private back yard. It was centrally located to everything. Whenever we had a question, needed help with getting a cab or any other issue, Natascia was immediately responsive. It could not have been better. I will recommend it to anyone going to Alberobello.
The location of Trulli d'Angio was excellent.About 5 minutes walk from the main town piazza and in the quiet part of the less touristy bit of Alberobello. The property was lovely, very comfortable and our host had left plenty of stores for breakfast. There is also a good supermarket about 5 minutes walk away if you want to prepare a meal. Not far from the railway station either.
Great experience to spend the night in a Trullo!
My wife has an impecable record with hotels, so they upgraded us for free to a bigger room.
The breakfast was satisfactory to start the day.
The staff was friendly and very helpful when we were planning the rest of our trip through Italy.
We absolutely loved our stay at Romantic Trulli in Alberobello. Our room was amazing and the hotel staff and owner were very nice. The location could not have been better and we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go…. We will be back and hopefully next year! Curt & Michelle
The place is beatiful, when we stayed in Alberobello, we had the fortune to be the only guests, so the whole place was for us. It has a really nice terrace for chilling. The location is exceptional, Justo a few blocks away from pibe of the prettiest trulli in town.
Location, location, location!!! The home was clean with everything we needed to cook dinner and were close to Matera. We had extra soap, toilet paper, towels, air conditioning, in a unique trulli home in Alberobello, Italy. Excellent place to stay!
Location is perfect for visiting Alberobello and the rest of Puglia. Giulia was so friendly and looked after us so well. We loved the pool and spent ages relaxing by it on the days we were travelling to other parts of Puglia
The trulli are a delight. Anselmo’s restoration of the structures fall in the realm of art. Live for a while inside these masterpieces, I suggest! So glad to have found this place to stay while we visited Alberobello
terrific staff of very nice and helpful people. easy free parking on the street of the hotel. pleasant walk into the trulli area. good breakfast, nice room with great bathroom and shower
